By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command has arrested two suspected criminals, Muhammad Sarari and Madaki Zaharaddeen, for impersonating civil defence staff.

The public relations officer of NSCDC Kano Command SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi disclosed this while briefing journalist in Kano.

He said The duo, aged 43 and 32 respectively, were residents of Goron Dutse, Dala Local government, and Hotoro quarters, Nassarawa local government.

According to the Public relations officer, the suspects would storm ministries and government agencies in Kano, intimidating top officials and extorting money from them.

“Their luck ran out when they attempted to intimidate a top management staff of a renowned television station in the state, demanding cash in exchange for their “services.”

The suspects were caught by personnel of the Corps, Tarauni divisional office, and brought to the state headquarters for interrogation.

Upon investigation, they confessed to the crime, and one of them was found with a fake identity card and inner wear bearing the NSCDC logo.

He noted that the suspects will be charged with personation of public servant, conspiracy, intimidation, and extortion.

Abdullahi added that the NSCDC Kano State Command has concluded its investigation, and the case will proceed to court.
