MINISTER OF WOMEN AFFAIRS CONDEMNS THE ABDUCTION OF 4 FEMALE STUDENTS OF JOSEPH SARWUAN TARKA UNIVERSITY, MAKURDI                                                                             01-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has condemned the abduction of four female students of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, Benue State, calling for their immediate and unconditional release.

In a statement issued by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Jonathan Eze, the Minister expressed deep concern over the incident

“The Minister appealed to the kidnappers to consider the traumatic impact of their actions on the students, their families, and the entire university community. She emphasized that the students are innocent and deserve to be freed without harm,” It stated.

The Minister also urged security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the safe release of the students and called on members of the public with useful information to assist security operatives in their investigation.

She reassured the families of the abducted students that the government is fully committed to ensuring their safe return, while urging Nigerians to join in prayers for their quick and safe release.

The students were reportedly kidnapped while heading to study at the Aper Aku Auditorium, along the road linking the hostels and the College of Agriculture, Extension, and Communication. The abductors were said to have emerged from the surrounding bushes and seized the students.
