ANAMBRA POLL: APC ENDORSES INDIRECT PRIMARY TO SELECT CANDIDATE                                                                                                                  07-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed the use of the indirect primary mode to select the candidate of the party ahead of the November 8 Anambra governorship poll.

National Secretary of the party Senator Ajibola Bashiru, disclosed this to newsmen at the end of the meeting of the national working committee (NWC) of the APC held at the national headquarters of the party in Abuja.

Bashiru who disclosed that the decision was in tandem with the position of the Anambra state chapter of the party, disclosed that the Ganduje-led NWC would meet with aspirants and stakeholders of the party next week to fine-tune modalities for the conduct of the primary poll.

The APC scribe also faulted the notion held in certain quarters that the party had endorsed one, out of the seven aspirants jostling for the ticket of the party.

“There is no such thing as that. As far as we are concerned at the NWC we are not in a position to endorse anybody that is in the contest. It’s not a coronation. We are for all candidates. We are for all aspirants,” Bashiru flanked by Messers Duro Meseko, Dayo Israel, Zainab Ibrahim, and other NWC members stressed.

He also disclosed the NWC’s resolve to interface with heads of ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) as part of an ongoing effort to ensure the implementation of the renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.
