GOVERNOR ABDULRAZAK INAUGURATES NEW COMMISSIONERS, RESHUFFLES CABINET 13-03-25
By Sadiq Aminu Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has inaugurated two new Commissioners with a charge on them to be team players and key into the administration’s efforts to build on its achievements across sectors.
Those sworn in are Dr Lawal Olohungbebe and Dr Maryam Nna-Fatima Imam.
The inauguration of the new Commissioners has resulted in a minor cabinet reshuffle with Dr Lawal Olohungbebe assigned to the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, while Nnafatima is the Commissioner for Social Development.
Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu has moved to the Ministry of Tertiary Education, while Dr. Mary Arinde is to head the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.
Lafia Aliyu Kora Sabi is the Commissioner for the newly created ministry of Transportation while Olohuntoyosi Thomas Adebayo formerly of the Agriculture and Rural Development is now assigned to the new Ministry of Livestock Development.
Olohuntoyosi has been replaced by Dr. Afeez Abolore, with the ministry of Solid Minerals now to be headed by Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh, who was in charge of Social Development.
Speaking shortly after the inauguration, Governor AbdulRazaq maintained that the new commissioners were elevated from their previous roles as Senior Special Assistants.
He enjoined the Commissioners to renew their commitment to serving the people of the State with dedication, integrity, and vision as well as ensure teamwork.
He noted that his administration had made measurable progress in different sectors such as education, primary healthcare, rural and urban development, infrastructure upgrade, social protection and wealth redistribution initiatives.
The Governor urged the Commissioners to embrace creativity, think outside the box, and apply prudence in every decision they make
The new Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe who spoke on behalf of others, thanked the Governor and promised to live up to expectations.
