CNG CONVERSION CENTRE REACHES ADVANCED STAGE IN BENUE STATE                                                                     13-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        Motorists in Benue state will soon heeve a sigh of relief as the Compreesed Natural Gas, CNG initiative has reached advanced stage.

This follows the remodeling of a state owned Filling Station to incorporate a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion centre by the Governor Hyacinth Alia administration.

The project, aimed at promoting cleaner energy alternatives, is set to provide vehicle owners in with access to CNG refueling services and conversion facilities.

This was made known when the corporate communications team of the Benue Investment and Property Bureau led by the head, Joyce Isiaku visited the station in Makurdi.

Significant progress was made in upgrading the facility, with structural modifications nearing completion and the maintenance of underground tanks underway.

The initiative is part of Gov Hyacinth Alia’s desire to replicate President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to supporting sustainable energy solutions and reducing dependence on traditional fossil fuels.

The new CNG conversion centre when completed will enable vehicle owners to transition from petrol and diesel to CNG, an environmentally friendly and cost-effective fuel option.

The project aligns with the federal government’s push for alternative fuel adoption in Nigeria, aiming to lower carbon emissions and reduce transportation costs for businesses and individuals.

Once completed, the remodeled filling station will not only serve as a refueling hub for CNG users but also offer conversion services for those looking to modify their vehicles for CNG use.

The initiative is expected to boost economic activities, create job opportunities, and encourage a cleaner environment in Benue State.
