HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CALLS FOR DEPLOYMENT OF SPECIAL SECURITY OPERATION TO PLATEAU STATE                                                                                                                         19-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The House of Representatives has called for deployment of Special security operation to Plateau State to address security challenges facing some parts of the State.

The green Chamber in an urgent motion of Public importance sponsored by Mr. John Dafaan, a member representing Mikang, Qua’an Pan Shendam Federal Constituency of Plateau, explained that the State has been caged by the activities of criminal elements.
Plateau State, just like other States of the Federation has witnessed serious security challenges which has resulted to loss of lives and destruction of properties.

Despite efforts by government and other stakeholders to contain the security threats, Plateau State has continued to face security challenges
Disturbed by this development, a member representing Mikang, Qua’an Pan Shendam Federal Constituency of Plateau State, Mr. John Dafaan, expressed concern over recent upsurge of insecurity in the state.

Similarly, a member representing Arewa Dandi Federal Constituency of Kebbi, Rabiu Kamba, has called for the establishment of Army Operational Base in Arewa Local Government of Kebbi State to respond promptly to persistent attacks by Lakurawa group.
During the plenary, the House in a motion by the member representing Ijumu/Kabba-Bunu Federal Constituency of Kogi State Idris Salman urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to restore twelf House of Assembly Constituencies in Kogi State.
The House also in another motion by a member representing Ibadan North East/ Ibadan South East of Oyo State Abbas Adigun, mandated its committees to Investigate the delay in the payments of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme of the Government.

Meanwhile the Green Chamber has called on the National Assembly Service Commission to Recognize and Utilize Federal Universities Diploma Certificates from 2000 to Date.
