EDO SOUTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT CONSTITUENTS COMMENCE RECALL PROCESS AGAINST SENATOR 28-03-25
By Sadiq Aminu Some constituents of Edo South Senatorial District, under the aegis of ” Forum to recalled failed Legislator” has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to immediately commence the verification of signatures sent to them for the recall of the Senator representing the Edo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Chief Neda Imasuen.
Addressing Newsmen in Benin City, Spokesperson for the Constituents and a Human Right advocate, Marxist Kola Edokpaye says the tenure of Senator Neda Imasuen at the National Assembly has been marred by failure, Corruption, abuse of office and gross betrayal of public interest.
He noted that based on the constitutional provisions, they were exercising their constitutional rights to demand the recall of Senator Imasuen as the process of gathering signatures has commenced and urged INEC to immediately commence referendum on it.
Marxist Edokpaye appealed to EFCC and ICPC to collaborate with Interpol to commence the investigation of Senator Imasuen on his alleged involvement in the twenty five million dollars Bank Fraud in the United States of America which led to his abstrup departure from the country.
He further called on the EFCC and ICPC to investigate the circumstances Surrounding his alleged disbarment by New York state Supreme court In 2010 for professional misconduct among others and ensure his prosecution if found culpable.
Also Commenting, a member of the group, Mr Cezer Garrick said the Edo South Senatorial District has never felt the impact of the Senator since assumption of office in 2023.
While alleging that the Senator Imasuen seems to be one of the worse senator in performance at the upper Chamber of the National Assembly, he stressed that the constituents have resolved to ensure the INEC live up to her responsibility by the recall of the Senator.
