PRESIDENT TINUBU PAYS GLOWING TRIBUTE TO CHIEF PIUS OLU AKINYELURE ON HIS BIRTHDAY                                                                          02-05-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                    President Bola Tinubu has extended glowing birthday wishes to Chief Pius Olu Akinyelure, describing him as a “dear brother, friend and former boss.”

In a message marking Chief Akinyelure’s birthday tomorrow, May 2nd, President Tinubu praises his decades of service to family, community, and country.

Chief Akinyelure is being celebrated for his distinguished life as a husband, father, and accomplished administrator.

The President notes that the celebrant has earned national respect not only as a seasoned politician and community leader but also as a towering figure in Nigeria’s development landscape.

Reflecting on their shared professional history, President Tinubu recounts how their paths first crossed at ExxonMobil, where Akinyelure served as an Executive Director.

The President further notes that their professional rapport blossomed into a lifelong personal and political alliance that has lasted over 40 years.

He expresses appreciation for the enduring friendship they share, which, he says, has been marked by trust, loyalty, and shared ideals.

President Tinubu highlights Akinyelure’s wisdom and principled counsel as sources of strength throughout their years of association.

The President also lauds Akinyelure’s unwavering patriotism and his commitment to progressive politics.

He acknowledges his contributions to Nigeria’s political evolution, particularly during his tenure as National Vice Chairman (South-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at a critical phase in the party’s history.

The President also highlights Akinyelure’s leadership role at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), where he served both as a Director and later as Chairman.

He credits him with playing a key role in the transformation and achievements of the state-owned oil company over the past decade.

The President prays for continued good health and happiness for Chief Akinyelure, describing him as an inspirational octogenarian whose example will continue to benefit the country, while wishing him many more years of fulfilment and joy.
