FG APPOINTS DR. DELE ANISERE AS New REGISTRAR OF DENTAL THERAPIST’S BOARD

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The Federal Government has appointed Dr. Dele Anisere as the new Registrar of the Dental Therapists’ Registration Board of Nigeria (DThRBN), a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

In a statement on Thursday, the Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations, Alaba Balogun, says the appointment takes effect from May 5, 2025, for a four-year term.

While presenting the appointment letter, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Salako, commended the process that led to the selection of the new Registrar.

“Your appointment, following a rigorous and diligent process, is highly commendable. I’m pleased we’ve chosen someone who will lead the board effectively for the next four years,” Salako said.

He tasked Dr. Anisere with strengthening the profession by eliminating unlicensed practitioners and unapproved programmes in health institutions.

“Our expectation is that you will grow the profession and eliminate quackery in dental therapy. As long as quacks exist, the board is failing in its primary responsibility of regulation. Effective regulation means eliminating quackery,” he added.

The minister urged Dr Anisere to leverage his expertise and network to drive the growth and integrity of the dental therapy profession.
