The Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has hailed the recent defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the entire Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure in Delta State to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a testament to the strength and flexibility of Nigeria’s constitutional democracy, which guarantees freedom of association.
Speaking on a public affairs program, Dr. Oghenesivbe declared that the APC in Delta State is now stronger, more unified, and better positioned to win future elections, including the 2027 presidential and gubernatorial polls.
“With Governor Oborevwori now leading the APC in Delta State, there is renewed hope and direction. He is committed to fostering unity across all political divides,” Oghenesivbe stated.
He praised Governor Oborevwori as a humble, courageous, and pragmatic leader whose style of leadership promotes inclusivity and collective progress. He emphasized that the governor is determined to move Delta State forward beyond 2027.
Dr. Oghenesivbe also called on new APC members in the state to embrace unity and avoid divisive rhetoric, assuring them that Governor Oborevwori will ensure fair representation and balance within the party for the benefit of all stakeholders and citizens.
“Governor Oborevwori is a selfless leader and a true team player. His new role as the APC leader in Delta State comes with great responsibility, but he is well-equipped to lead effectively and equitably,” he said.
He added that the recent political realignment has been well-received by the majority of Deltans, who are ready to rally behind the governor and support the party’s vision for sustainable development.
“The entire political family stands united behind Governor Oborevwori for the growth and success of the APC in Delta State,” Oghenesivbe concluded.
