PRESIDENT TINUBU SAYS THE DIGITIZATION OF NIGERIA’S TAX SYSTEM IS ALREADY YIELDING POSITIVE RESULTS 13-05-25
By Sadiq Aminu The President made this known in Abuja at the 27th Annual Tax Conference organized by the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
President Bola Tinubu, represented by the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, applauded CITN for its contributions to Nigeria’s tax architecture.
He urged participants to propose practical ideas for effective implementation of tax policies to realize their intended impact.
Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, disclosed that the state has already digitized its tax system to enhance efficiency and transparency.
Also speaking, the Governor of Plateau State, Mr. Caleb Mutfwang, said his administration is focused on reinvesting in the economy to expand the tax net and improve revenue generation.
In his remarks, CITN President, Mr. Samuel Agbeluyi, reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to supporting ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s tax system.
The theme of the conference is: “Taxation for Development: Policies, Law and Implementation.”
The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s tax landscape.
The 27th Annual Tax Conference provided a platform for stakeholders to deliberate on key issues, exchange best practices, and explore new frontiers for national growth and development.
