OVER 200 ZAMFARA STATE RESIDENTS ARE STILL IN CAPTIVITY – REP MEMBER                                                     14-05-25

‎          By Sadiq Aminu                                                      Over 200 residents of Zamfara State are still being held in captivity with their captors demanding for over thirty million Naira for them to be released.
‎ The Member representing Kaura Namoda Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency of Zamfara State, Alhaji Aminu Sani Jaji stated this while briefing House of Representatives Press Corps on security situation in Zamfara State.
‎ Alhaji Jaji, while describing the security situation in Zamfara State as appalling, pointed out that the Bandits in the State operate with impunity.
‎ He said the local Vigilantes recruited by the State government to safeguard the people are being slaughtered on daily basis like chickens.
‎ The lawmaker explained that the State is so vulnerable to Bandits’ attacks to an extent that people can no longer go to their farms, which has been their major means of livelihood.
‎ The member representing Kaura Namoda Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency of Zamfara State, while revealing a testimony from one of the rescued victims, Alhaji Jaji stated that a bandits leader once fed his dog with newly born twin babies.
‎ According to Alhaji Jaji, the People of Zamfara State are in dire need of protection against the helpless attacks and killings from the Bandits.
‎ While calling for proactive measures from the Federal Government, the lawmaker stressed that President Bola Tinubu might not being properly briefed on the situation in Zamfara State.
