AVIATION MINISTRY SUPPORTS INDUSTRY GROWTH AS NIGAV UNVEILS 2025 KING AND QUEEN OF THE AIR                                                                    27-05-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development says it will continue to support initiatives aimed at growing the aviation industry and promoting social responsibility.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ibrahim Kana, made this known in Abuja when he received the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Aviation Award, Mr. Fortune Idu, the newly crowned King and Queen of the Air for 2025, and representatives of the SOS Children’s Village.

Dr. Kana described the unity among airline operators as a positive step that aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also pledged the Ministry’s support for the King and Queen of the Air contest, which he said promotes excellence and unity across the industry.

CEO of NIGAV, Mr. Fortune Idu, highlighted the group’s 25-year contribution to aviation development through summits, expos, and performance awards. He said the contest celebrates cabin crew excellence and enhances the passenger experience.

The 2025 title holders, Henry Chika and Aisha Yakub, pledged to support children at the SOS Village with part of their entitlements.

A representative of SOS Children’s Villages said the organization has been operating in Nigeria since 1973, and partnerships with the aviation sector will help them reach more vulnerable children.
