By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal, has officially handed over the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) of the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe, to the newly established Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe.

The presentation was made to Senator Ikra Aliyu Bilbis, who represents Zamfara Central Senatorial District and championed the establishment of the federal university in Tsafe.

With this development, the state government has formally transferred the ownership and assets of the state-owned tertiary institution to the management of the new federal university, paving the way for its smooth take-off.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Broadcast Media, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, the handover of the C of O to Senator Bilbis marks a significant step towards the operationalization of the university.

During the presentation ceremony in Abuja, Governor Dauda Lawal commended Senator Bilbis for his dedication, foresight, and tireless efforts in facilitating the establishment of the federal institution.

He noted that the initiative aligns with his administration’s Rescue Mission Agenda, which places education as the second-highest priority.

Governor Lawal reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education and urged the management of the newly established university to expedite action for the commencement of academic activities in order to fulfill the purpose of its creation.

In his response, Senator Ikra Aliyu Bilbis expressed deep appreciation to the governor for his unwavering support for the university and for the development of Tsafe Local Government Area as a whole.

He highlighted various ongoing projects in the area by the state government, describing them as commendable and urging the governor to sustain the momentum.

Senator Bilbis assured the governor of his full support, pledging to do everything possible to ensure the successful and timely take-off of the federal institution.
