THE 2025 GRAND DURBAR HAS BEEN MARKED IN ILORIN, KWARA STATE ATTRACTING THOUSANDS OF VISITORS FROM ACROSS NIGERIA AND BEYOND                                                                   10-06-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The Durbar, which was held at the Kwara Baseball Park in Adewole, Ilorin attracted thousands of visitors from across the country and beyond and highlighted the Emirate’s rich cultural heritage.

In an interview with Radio Nigeria,Some attendees attributed the success of this year’s event to the sustained infrastructural investment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whose administration is repositioning the State as a national model for culture, commerce, and innovation.

They praised both the state Government and planning of the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee which ensured that the event was successful.

Although this year’s Durbar was briefly disrupted by heavy rainfall, various cultural performances from different tribes across the country were showcased with Tribes such as Tiv, Idoma, Fulani, Okun, and Kanuri on hand to proudly display their culture during the event.

The event also attracted international media coverage further amplifying its profile and global appeal.

The Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji
Dr ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, was widely acknowledged by guests as key to preserving the Emirate’s unity and cultural identity.

Prayers were offered for continued peace and progress in Kwara State with hope that the coming year will showcase a better outing
