ABDULMALIK ZUBAIRU DISBURSES ₦97 MILLION IN SECOND PHASE OF SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME                                                                                         17-06-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The Member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dr. Abdulmalik Zubairu, has released the sum of ₦97 million for the second phase of his constituency-wide scholarship program targeted at students in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Chief Spokesperson to the lawmaker, Aminu Lawal Bungudu, who noted that the latest disbursement follows an earlier payment of ₦120 million under the first phase of the 2025 Bungudu/Maru Scholarship and Studies Project.

According to the statement, Dr. Zubairu, also known as Zannan Bungudu, was represented by the Chairman of the Coordinating Committee, Bashir Bello Auki, during the flagging-off of the second phase scheme said the scholarship program is open to all indigenes of Bungudu and Maru Local Government Areas, regardless of political affiliation.

It says when it comes to education, especially scholarship initiative, every constituent is entitled to benefit, irrespective of their political party.

Also speaking at the event, Muhammad Lawal Adamu, Chairman of the Scholarship and Education Committee who provided a breakdown of the scholarship’s implementation process said the committee contacted registrars and management of tertiary institutions across the country to request data of all registered indigenes from Bungudu and Maru LGAs.

According to him, the beneficiaries in the second phase are distributed across the following zones and institutions:

“Kaduna zone: 614 students, Sokoto zone: 622 students, College of Education, Maru: 755 students, Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara: 558 students”

The statement explains that, Under the scheme, university students receive ₦40,000 each, while polytechnic and monotechnic students are given ₦30,000 each.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing education and youth development in the constituency.
