BAUCHI GOV SETS UP COMMITTEE FOR NEW EMIRATES, CHIEFDOMS AND DISTRICT…………….

By; Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has inaugurated a committee to review community requests for the creation of new Emirates, Chiefdoms, and Districts across the state.

Speaking at the Government House in Bauchi, the Governor said the move aims to promote inclusion, cultural identity, local governance, and fair resource distribution, not political gain.

The committee, chaired by Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam, is tasked with reviewing requests, engaging stakeholders, and proposing viable administrative structures. They are expected to submit a report within eight weeks.

Members include representatives from security agencies, traditional leaders, civil society, government ministries, and the media.
