President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has unveiled a 40,000 CBM Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carrier, MT Iyaloja (Lagos), in Ulsan, South Korea.
The vessel, owned by the NNPC Ltd. Sahara Group Joint Venture, is expected to boost Nigeria’s gas supply, expand clean energy access across Africa, and support economic development.
Tinubu, represented by Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, praised the project as a symbol of innovation, strategic foresight, and Africa’s growing role in the global clean energy market.
Named in honour of Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, the late mother of President Tinubu, the commissioning was marked by a symbolic ribbon cutting performed by her granddaughter, Alhaja Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria.
