The Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB) has launched free distribution of Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) commodities to 106 Primary Health Centres across the state.
The initiative, driven by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, aims to reduce preventable maternal and child deaths by strengthening primary healthcare services.
KSPHCMB Director General, Prof. Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, stressed accountability and warned against diversion, assuring close monitoring of the process. He praised the governor and the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Labaran Abubakar Yusuf, for prioritizing maternal and child health.
The Board noted that the intervention supports Universal Health Coverage and will ease financial burdens for mothers and children while improving health outcomes in Kano.
