ILORIN COMMUNITIES REJECT HOTELS, ALCOHOL JOINTS

Residents of Ifesowapi, Alalubarika, Osere, and Okoerin in Ilorin West, Kwara State, have opposed the construction of hotels and alcohol joints in their neighborhoods.
Community leader, Alhaji Abdulwahab Opeloyeru, said such businesses pose security threats and could negatively influence young people. He stressed that hotels often attract anti-social activities, disturbing peace and harmony in the area.
The communities have reported the matter to the police and town planning authorities, insisting the projects are unacceptable.
A retired civil servant, Alhaji Tunde Sarumi, also appealed to the developer, Mr. Abdulateef Anafi, to respect the community’s stance for peace and unity.
