President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Brasília for a state visit aimed at deepening diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and Brazil. He was received at the Brasília Air Base by top Brazilian officials alongside Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Bianca Ojukwu.
During the visit, Tinubu will meet President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, hold bilateral talks, and witness the signing of key agreements. He will also address a joint press conference, meet Brazil’s top lawmakers and judiciary leaders, and attend the Nigeria–Brazil Business Forum.
Nigeria and Brazil have enjoyed close ties since the 1960s, strengthened by recent high-level exchanges, strategic dialogues, and economic cooperation in areas such as agriculture, trade, defence, and energy.
Brazil remains a vital partner in Nigeria’s food security agenda, with major investments including the $2.5bn JBS food security project and the $1.1bn Green Imperative Programme for agricultural mechanisation.
