KANO PLEDGES STRONGER SUPPORT FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Kano State Government has restated its commitment to strengthening higher education, especially in legal and Islamic studies, to produce competent graduates for the state and the nation.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, made the pledge at the National Annual Meeting of Heads of Colleges of Legal and Islamic Studies, held at Aminu Kano College. He assured continuous support in infrastructure, logistics, and learning resources to boost academic standards.

The Provost, Professor Balarabe Abubakar Jakada, praised the government’s efforts but called for more classrooms, hostels, and modern facilities to meet current demands.

The meeting brought together education stakeholders from across Nigeria, with participants sharing ideas and adopting resolutions to improve colleges of legal and Islamic studies nationwide.
