ASUU FULAFIA STAGES PEACEFUL PROTEST OVER UNMET DEMANDS, DISRUPTS ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) branch, on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest over the Federal Government’s failure to implement their long-standing demands.

During the protest march within the university community, members of the union carried placards bearing various inscriptions, including: “Pay Our Withheld Salaries Now,” “ASUU Rejects FG Tertiary Institution Loan,” “Settle Our 12 Months 25/35% Arrears,” “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Approve and Implement Yayale Ahmed Committee Report Now,” and “Delay is Dangerous.”

The demonstration, according to reports, disrupted academic activities in the institution as lectures and other learning engagements were put on hold.
