The Nasarawa State Government has introduced a data-driven system to eliminate ghost workers and improve transparency in the education sector.
Governor Abdullahi Sule announced this during the induction of 781 newly recruited teachers, who passed ICT and oral exams conducted by a private consultant. The process replaced over 4,000 irregular recruitments earlier done by the Teachers Service Commission.
Governor Sule said his administration has prioritized education since 2019, starting with a baseline survey to address decay in the sector. He congratulated the teachers and assured that his government is committed to accountability, transparency, and high standards in education.
Education Commissioner John Mamman praised the Governor’s insistence on due process, while TSC Chairman Ambassador Timothy Kasuwa noted that the ICT-based exams will help strengthen teaching standards.
The induction, themed “Innovative Teaching Strategies for Modern Classrooms,” was attended by traditional rulers, academics, and education stakeholders.
