NIGERIAN, PATRICK OLUYIDE,DTM ELECTED TOASTMASTERS INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR FOR REGION 11
In a landmark development for the Toastmasters community, Nigerian, Patrick Oluyide, DTM has been elected as the Toastmasters International Director for Region 11 in a keenly contested election featuring three other formidable candidates. The election took place during the Toastmasters International Convention in Philadelphia, United States, where thousands of Toastmasters from across the globe gathered to celebrate leadership, communication, and organizational growth.
Patrick’s victory is historic as it marks the first time a candidate from West and Central Africa, specifically District 130 and District 94, has attained this prestigious office.
Toastmasters International is a global non-profit educational organization dedicated to empowering individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. With more than 270,000 members in over 14,000 clubs across 148 countries, Toastmasters has impacted countless lives by providing a proven framework for building confidence, leadership skills, and public speaking excellence.
As an International Director, Patrick will serve on the Board of Directors of Toastmasters International. In this capacity, he will be responsible for shaping policies, guiding the organization’s strategic direction, and supporting the growth and development of clubs across Region 11, which covers Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia.
Patrick is the Past District Director of District 94, where he played a pivotal role in driving membership growth, strengthening clubs, and expanding Toastmasters International’s presence in Nigeria and other West African countries. His leadership has been instrumental in building strong club networks and fostering a culture of excellence and service within the organization.
Congratulating him, Alhassan Mohammed, DTM, the immediate Past Division J Director for District 130, expressed confidence in Patrick’s leadership, saying:
