FG CLARIFIES: NO SUBSIDY REMOVAL OR PRICE HIKE ON CNG

The Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (PiCNG) has dismissed reports claiming the Federal Government removed subsidies or raised the price of CNG, calling them false.
According to PiCNG’s Communications Manager, Matilda Johnson, CNG remains far cheaper, cleaner, and more affordable than petrol and diesel. She stressed that recent pump price changes are private-sector decisions, not government policy.
Johnson explained that PiCNG’s mandate, under President Bola Tinubu, is to drive CNG adoption as a sustainable alternative fuel. The initiative has already sparked massive growth, attracting nearly $1 billion in private investments.
