The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) says it has recovered over ₦7.3 billion and $1.06 million in the Northwest, alongside ₦43.3 million in the Northeast.
Chairman Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu revealed this in Kano during a media engagement, noting that the recoveries came through project tracking, enforcement, and reports from citizens. He also highlighted citizens’ growing resistance to bribery, with the Northwest recording the highest refusal rate in the country.
Aliyu urged the media to strengthen investigative reporting and called on the National Assembly to speed up the Whistleblower Bill to protect those exposing corruption.
He stressed that tackling corruption is vital for governance, peace, trust, and development.
