The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says financial inclusion is critical to driving Nigeria’s economic growth and stability.
Speaking at the 2025 CBN Fair in Kano, Governor Olayemi Cardoso, represented by Acting Director of Corporate Communications, Hajiya Hakama Sidi Ali reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to deepening financial inclusion, unifying exchange rates, recapitalising banks, and promoting payment innovations.
She explained that recent reforms have boosted foreign investments, improved trade balances, and expanded access to financial services. The fair, she noted, is aimed at helping Nigerians understand how CBN policies affect their daily lives and the economy at large
The event, themed “Driving Alternative Payment Channels as Tools for Financial Inclusion, Growth and Accelerated Economic Development,” brought together financial operators, security agencies, academia, youth corps members, and other stakeholders.
