EDU/PATIGI RESIDENTS URGE KWARA GOV’T TO BOOST SECURITY
By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban
Residents of Edu and Patigi Local Government Areas in Kwara State have called on the state government to deploy more security personnel to curb rising cases of banditry and kidnapping.
In a communiqué signed by Alhaji Dabarako Mohammed (Chairman) and Alhaji Mohammed Sambo Magaji (Secretary), the stakeholders appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s efforts but expressed disappointment over his delayed visit to the affected communities.
They said the attacks have crippled economic and social life, leaving residents traumatized. The group urged the government to send more troops and deploy the newly trained National Forest Guards to flush out the criminals.
Governor AbdulRazaq, in response, assured that more troops would be sent soon and revealed plans to launch a community-based security system to strengthen local defence and restore peace.
