The Kano State Hisbah Board says it has finalized plans to conduct a mass wedding for 2,000 couples across the state.
Deputy Commander General Sheikh Mujahid Aminudeen Abubakar said the initiative targets intending couples who are ready for marriage but face financial challenges.
He explained that participants will undergo health screenings and counseling before the event, while the state government will provide dowries, furniture, food items, and startup support.
Sheikh Mujahid noted that the program focuses on orphans, vulnerable individuals, and couples whose weddings were delayed due to lack of funds, with beneficiaries drawn from all 44 local government areas.
He warned against fraudulent attempts to secure forms, saying only qualified applicants will be considered.
