ZAMFARA POLITICS: APC, PDP CLASH AS LAWMAKER DEFECTS
By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban
Tensions are rising in Zamfara as Hon. Maharazu Salisu Faru, member representing Maradun 2 Constituency, dumped the PDP for the APC.
Faru said he left due to Governor Dauda Lawal’s failure to fulfill campaign promises and alleged neglect of his constituency. He was received by APC chairman Tukur Umar Danfulani alongside his supporters in Gusau.
Reacting, the PDP dismissed the defection as insignificant, saying it would not weaken the party’s growing influence. The party insisted that Governor Lawal remains focused on rebuilding the state and restoring hope to its citizens.
