REPS TO SUBMIT REPORT ON PLATEAU CRISIS TO PRESIDENT TINUBU

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The House of Representatives says it will submit its report on the root causes of the Plateau State crisis to President Bola Tinubu as part of efforts to end the recurring violence that has claimed many lives and destroyed properties.

Chairman of the House Ad-hoc Committee on Plateau Crisis, Hon. Wale Ahmed, disclosed this during a visit to the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, in Abuja.

He said the Committee has been engaging key stakeholders to identify lasting solutions, adding that the Tinubu administration is committed to ending insecurity in Plateau and across the country.

Ahmed explained that over 300 individuals and organizations have submitted memoranda, noting that the final report will reflect recurring issues and shared recommendations for peace.

APC Chairman, Prof. Yilwatda, commended the Committee’s efforts and urged a thorough investigation, expressing concern that the prolonged crisis has crippled socio-economic activities and eroded public confidence in the state.
