The Federal Government has sent additional troops to Zamfara to strengthen the fight against banditry. Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, announced in Gusau that security operatives now have clear orders to confront and eliminate bandits without waiting for further instructions.
He said efforts to work with the state governor on security were ignored but assured residents that the FG is intensifying military operations across the state’s forests to restore peace.
Matawalle thanked APC supporters, especially those in Kaura Namoda, and noted that major projects like the Funtua,Gusau, Mafara, Sokoto road were approved and funded by the Federal Government, not the state government. He warned citizens not to be misled about who deserves credit.
He also claimed Zamfara has received nearly ₦1 trillion in two years and urged people to demand accountability from the state government. According to him, no LGA receives less than ₦3–4 billion monthly, with Gusau getting up to ₦10 billion.
On dismissed workers, he assured that an APC-led state government would reinstate them and pay all outstanding salaries. He reaffirmed APC’s endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term and received a validation letter confirming support for the 2027 Zamfara APC ticket.
The meeting was attended by party stakeholders, supporters, and well-wishers under tight security.
