FUNERAL OF SHEIKH DAHIRU USMAN BAUCHI DRAWS MASSIVE CROWD

Vice President Kashim Shettima, several governors, ministers, lawmakers and religious leaders joined thousands of mourners in Bauchi for the funeral of the revered Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
Acting on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive, Shettima led the Federal Government delegation as the prayer was held at the Bauchi Eid Ground at 4:36 PM, led by Sheikh Sharif Ibrahim Saleh.
Crowds filled the city from early morning, a reflection of the Sheikh’s deep spiritual influence across Nigeria and beyond. The centenarian passed away Thursday morning at ATBU Teaching Hospital, sparking nationwide condolences.
He is survived by many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The leader of the Tijjaniyya order has since been laid to rest at his Makera residence.
