ANAMBRA ASSEMBLY SEEKS STATEWIDE STAFF AUDIT

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct an immediate staff and personnel audit across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state.

Lawmakers said the move is overdue, noting that the last comprehensive audit was carried out in 2018. They stressed that a fresh exercise will help expose inefficiencies, curb truancy, improve productivity and strengthen accountability in the public service, especially at the local government level.

Presiding Speaker, Somtochukwu Udeze, described the resolution as a matter of public importance and called for its prompt implementation to support the Soludo administration’s drive for effective service delivery.
