SENATE WARNS MDAs OVER LATE ARRIVAL AT BUDGET DEFENCE, PRAISES SECURITY AGENCIES

The Nigerian Senate has issued a stern warning to heads of government agencies who arrive late for budget defence sessions, describing the habit as unacceptable during a critical budget period.

Speaking at a security sector budget defence, Orji Uzor Kalu said the Senate will no longer tolerate excuses for lateness, noting that punctuality reflects seriousness and respect for the legislative process. He, however, commended security and intelligence chiefs for consistently honoring invitations on time.

The committee chairman, Yahaya Abdullahi, backed the warning, urging all agency heads to see it as a wake-up call.
