NIGERIA TO LAUNCH DIRECT ENUGU-CHINA CARGO FLIGHTS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Federal Government has announced plans to commence direct cargo flights between Enugu and Guangzhou, China, by December as part of efforts to transform the Akanu Ibiam International Airport into a major cargo hub for the South-East.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, said discussions with key stakeholders were at an advanced stage to ensure the project takes off before the end of the year.

He noted that ongoing reforms and improved investor confidence are boosting growth in the aviation sector, while efforts continue to expand airport infrastructure and strengthen cargo operations across the country.
