INFORMATION MINISTER URGES STRONGER MEDIA-SECURITY PARTNERSHIP

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has called for stronger collaboration between the media and security agencies to enhance national security and promote public trust.

Speaking at a security summit in Abuja, Idris said both institutions play vital roles in safeguarding national interests, maintaining peace and supporting development.
He stressed the need for responsible journalism and accurate reporting, warning against the spread of misinformation and disinformation that could undermine security efforts.

The minister also urged security agencies to strengthen engagement with the media through timely and transparent communication, describing security as a shared responsibility that requires the support of all stakeholders.
