Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has urged Nigerians to promote peace, tolerance and national unity as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Babangida made the call when members of the Niger State All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council visited him at his Hilltop residence in Minna.
He urged political leaders and supporters to place national interest above personal and political ambitions, while maintaining mutual respect throughout the campaign period.
The former military leader also prayed for peaceful and successful campaigns and elections in Niger State and across the country.
The delegation, led by the campaign council’s Director-General and former Deputy Governor of Niger State, Ambassador Ahmed Musa Ibeto, thanked Babangida for his advice and prayers.
Ibeto assured him that the APC campaign would focus on issues, development and the overall progress of Niger State.
