RAM SELLERS DECRY LOW PATRONAGE IN KWARA STATE                                                                                                                        11-06-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   Ram sellers in Kwara state have expressed concern over low patronage ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir Sallah celebrations.

When Africa 247 correspondents went to the market in Ilorin and environs which included Mandate Market, Oke Ose, Ajase Ipo, and GSS Ilorin among others it was discovered that most of the Ram seller are patiently waiting for prospective buyers.

A Ram seller at Ajase Ipo market ,Hussaini Saminu attributed the reason for low patronage to the economic situation in the country.

He said many people are eager to buy but had no money.

Saminu also attributed the relatively high prices of the Rams to the exchange rate.

He expressed hope that market will pick up when the Sallah is getting closer.

In his remarks a customer, Alhaji Yusuf Adebayo expressed worry over the hike in the prices of Rams.

He said Rams now sells between one hundred and thirty thousand naira (N130,000) to three hundred thousand naira(N300,000) and above depending on the size ,as against fifty thousand naira (N50,000) to one hundred and fifty thousand Naira(N150,000) sold last year.
