SENATOR ABDULAZIZ YARI ABUBAKAR DONATES 200 TRUCKLOADS OF MAIZE FOR DISTRIBUTIONTO RESIDENTS ACROSS ZAMFARA STATE                                                                                                                          04-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, former governor and current representative of Zamfara West Senatorial District, has donated 200 truckloads of maize for direct distribution to residents across Zamfara State.

The donation, aimed at providing relief amid recent challenges such as severe flooding and rising food prices, was announced in a statement by Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad (Danmadamin Birnin Magaji), Chairman of the Publicity Committee of the AA Yari Political Organization, and made available to Radio Nigeria in Gusau.

Hon. Lawal M. Liman (Gabdon Kaura), Chairman of the state distribution committee and leader of the AA Yari political organization, disclosed the distribution plan during a meeting with state and local government distribution committees in Gusau on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

According to Hon. Lawal, the local government areas of Gusau, Gummi, and Talata Mafara will each receive 20 trucks of maize, while the remaining 11 LGAs will be allocated 12 trucks each. The distribution is set to benefit a total of 230,400 people, with 1,000 beneficiaries in each of the 147 electoral wards across the 11 LGAs receiving 12 trucks, and 1,500 beneficiaries per ward in the three LGAs receiving 20 trucks.

Hon. Lawal emphasized that the donation was driven by the need to alleviate the suffering of the people, particularly in light of the recent flooding in Gummi and the soaring cost of food. The donation is expected to help stabilize food prices and provide crucial relief to the affected communities.

He also urged the distribution committees to carry out the exercise with integrity, ensuring that the maize reaches all citizens, irrespective of their religious or political affiliations.
