By Sadiq Aminu                                                                Police operatives attached to Njaba Divisional Police headquarters in Njaba local government area of Imo state have killed three hoodlums during an attack at the division on Sunday.

A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer Mr. Henry Okoye explained that a gang suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra stormed the division in three sports utility vehicles and started firing shots indiscriminately.

According to him, security personnel swiftly engaged the hoodlums in gun battle which led to the killing of three persons while others fled into the bush with bullet wounds abandoning their vehicles.

Mr. Okoye stated that the Command had commenced an intense operation led by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the state Mr. Aboki Danjuma to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

He said the Commissioner of Police had commended the officers for their gallantry and gave an assurance that the Command would remain committed in ensuring safety of lives and property of citizens.
