BORNO STATE LAUNCHES E-STAFF WEB APP TO ENHANCE INFORMATION SECURITY                                                                                11-10-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The Borno State government introduced an e-staff Web App aimed at protecting sensitive information within government institutions from unauthorized access and leaks.

The Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman unveiled the App during a five-day capacity building workshop for information officers across the state.

Professor Tar said that the app would significantly bolster the integrity of the civil service in the state.

Represented by Director Administration of the Ministry, Babagana Mustapha, the Commissioner added It will enhance information security, streamline government operations, and improve public trust, particularly on social media.

The Lead Consultant Abdullahi Maude described the app as a secure online platform that not only manages sensitive data but also minimizes the risk of unauthorized access.

“The app controls access, encrypts data, and tracks user activities, providing a clear record of who accessed what information and when,” he explained.

Director of Training and Research at the Consulting firm, Dr. Mukhtar El-Kasim emphasized the app’s role in streamlining communication within the state.

“The e-staff Web App enhances confidentiality and facilitates communication flow while providing templates for memos and complex tasks within the civil service,” he noted.

The Facilitator Dr. Barroon Ahmad highlighted the need for comprehensive training for public servants to effectively utilize the app, alongside improvements in infrastructure and policy to ensure reliable internet access.

The training attracted senior administrators and information officers from both state and local governments.

The workshop, themed “Misinformation and Information Leakages as Challenges to Human Resources Administration in the New Media Era,” featured insights from various experts.
