FIRST LADY DONATES 100 MILLION NAIRA TO VICTIMS OF NIGER STATE TANKER EXPLOSION                                                                                                                                    04-04-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated 100 Million Naira to victims of Tanker Exlposion in Niger State.

Senator Remi presented a dummy check for the amount to Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago at the Niger State Government House in Minna.

The first Lady accompanied by the wife of the Vice president, Hajiya Nana Shettima were received by Governor Bago at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna.

She was in Niger to condole with the Government and people of the State over the recent incidences of tanker explosions and other disasters.

The First Lady said the donation was to complement what the State government has done to bring relief to the victims.

Senator Remi prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and cautioned Nigerians against acts inimical to explosions from fallen Tankers.

Governor, Umaru Bago explained that the first Lady’s visit speaks volumes in consolidating the existing relationship between the Federal and the State Government.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu had earlier paid homage to the uphill residences of two former Nigerian military leaders, Generals Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar.

In an interview, General Abdulsalami Abubakar appreciated the first lady for her numerous intervention programmes for women, children and the youth.

The Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers and Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar pledged the support of the Traditional Institutions to the policies of the State and Federal Government.
