FCTA Shuts Down PDP National Secretariat Over Unpaid Ground Rent

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA) on Monday sealed the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.

The building, located in the Zone 5 area of the capital, was closed due to the non-payment of ground rent.

Lere Olayinka, spokesperson for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, confirmed the development to DAILY POST.

According to Olayinka, “The FCTA has sealed the PDP Secretariat in Zone 5, Abuja. The action was taken due to the revocation of the property’s rights over unpaid ground rent.”

He further revealed that Senator Samaila Mamman Kurfi, the registered owner of the property, had failed to pay the required ground rent for 28 years.
