REPS GIVE NNPCL DECEMBER 15 DEADLINE OVER 2021 AUDIT QUERIES

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee has summoned NNPCL’s GCEO, Bayo Ojulari, to submit all outstanding documents and appear before the committee on December 15, 2025. The summons follows repeated failures by NNPCL to honour invitations and provide records linked to audit queries on its 2021 expenditures.

PAC Chairman Bamidele Salam criticized the company’s consistent absence, warning that the committee will no longer accept delays or disregard for parliamentary oversight. Although NNPCL cited a presidential engagement for the GCEO’s absence, lawmakers described the conduct as disrespectful and obstructive.

After an appeal from NNPCL’s National Assembly Liaison Officer, the committee granted a final grace for compliance. NNPCL is expected to address questions on alleged payments for abandoned projects, unpaid statutory taxes, and irregular approvals issued by its former Chief Finance Officer.
