The Kebbi State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in its ongoing fight against terrorism and violent crime through intelligence-driven operations.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, operatives acting on credible intelligence arrested suspected collaborators supplying logistics to Lakurawa terrorists along the border axis. The suspects were intercepted with a large quantity of substances suspected to be Indian hemp.
In a related operation in Bagudo Local Government Area, tactical police units working with the Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested two other suspects. The operation led to the recovery of a high-calibre rifle, a significant cache of live ammunition and a locally made bullet-proof vest believed to be spiritually fortified.
SP Bashir disclosed that all suspects are currently in custody and will be prosecuted after investigations. The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Mohammed Hadeija, reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to dismantle criminal networks and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to support security efforts.
