AMB. ISMAIL ABBA YUSUF APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF NAHCON

President Bola Tinubu has nominated Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate in line with the provisions of the NAHCON Act, 2006.
The President conveyed the nomination in a letter addressed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, requesting speedy consideration and approval. Ambassador Yusuf is expected to replace Professor Abdullahi Usman, who resigned from the position earlier this week after about 14 months in office.
Ambassador Yusuf is a career diplomat with extensive experience in public service and international relations. He most recently served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Türkiye from 2021 to 2024.
