EBONYI LAWMAKER DEFENDS GOVERNOR, DENIES GENOCIDE CLAIMS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Chinedu Ogah has defended Francis Ogbonna’s actions in addressing communal conflicts in Ebonyi State, emphasizing that recent curfews and interventions were aimed at restoring peace and stability.

Briefing journalists in Abuja, Ogah said the measures were temporary, coordinated with security agencies, and designed to prevent further violence. He rejected claims of genocide as “false and misleading,” highlighting that a state-led peace panel had investigated the disputes and submitted recommendations for resolution.
