Police have confirmed that 23 people were killed and 108 others injured after multiple explosions rocked Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, on Monday night.
According to authorities, the blasts, suspected to be suicide attacks, occurred in busy areas of the city, including Monday Market and near the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
Security operatives, including police and the military, were quickly deployed to the affected locations where the areas were secured and searched for additional threats. Emergency responders evacuated victims to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Police say calm has since returned to the city, while security presence and surveillance have been strengthened across Maiduguri to prevent further incidents.
